Brawl Stars Angels vs Demons: A 2026 Look Back at the Celestial Clash
Brawl Stars' Angels vs Demons Brawl Pass delivered Spirit Wars, Trio Showdown, Juju, Shade, and Hypercharges in a cosmic 2024 season.
Brawl Stars did not simply add another season in late 2024; it staged a cosmic custody battle. The Angels vs Demons Brawl Pass season, which ran from Nov. 7 to Dec. 5, 2024, transformed the arena into a celestial and infernal conflict. Supercell revealed the event during a Brawl Talk on Oct. 26, 2024, and the update delivered new modes, new brawlers, Hypercharges, and a sprawling cosmetic collection. In 2026, the season remains a reference point for how far the mobile shooter is willing to push its seasonal storytelling.

Choosing a Side: Angels or Demons 😇😈
When players launched Brawl Stars on a specific day, the game sorted them into one of two mythic factions: Angels or Demons. Sometimes players could choose. Depending on alignment, they received Angelic or Demonic Starr Drops, each with unique rewards. They also gained special abilities that worked for all characters, usable in game modes marked by a special icon.

Spirit Wars, Trio Showdown, and Contests
Two standout modes defined the event. Spirit Wars asked teams to destroy the opponent’s base while controlling an army of minions, or spirits, unlocked by collecting special amulets. It turned each match into a chess game played with living pawns. Trio Showdown reimagined Battle Royale for three-player teams, a twist first tested during the SpongeBob event.
Contests ran once every three days. Players spent limited tickets to compete, climbed leaderboards, and top performers earned extra Starr Drops. The ticket economy acted as a pressure cooker: every attempt mattered.

New Brawlers: Juju and Shade
Juju arrived on Oct. 30, 2024, before the season officially began. An Artillery brawler, she summoned elemental pets whose effects changed based on her surroundings: grass pets increased range, earth pets increased damage, and water pets slowed opponents. Her Super called forth a creepy voodoo doll to fight alongside her.

Shade joined on Nov. 29, 2024. A ghost Assassin who controlled a pile of clothes, Shade could walk across water. When his Super activated, he walked through walls, and his attack also shot through walls. He moved through walls like a rumor slipping through a small town.

Hypercharges and a Flood of Skins
New Hypercharges — ultimate improvements for brawlers — arrived for 8-Bit, Otis, Ruffs, Darryl, Penny, and Stu. 8-Bit’s turret fired lasers at nearby opponents; Otis’s Super stunned and silenced; Ruffs’s Super dealt more damage; Darryl’s Super sprayed bullets and carried him across the map; Penny’s cannon fired two balls; and Stu’s Super became unlimited during Hypercharge. Hypercharges are a defibrillator for a brawler’s kit.

The Angels vs Demons skin line included:
-
Angel Larry & Lawrie, the November Brawl Pass skin with Chroma variants in Brawl Pass Plus
-
Demon, Devilish, and Lambent Mortis
-
Dark Angel, Lightbearer, and Nightbringer Edgar
-
Demon skins for Oris, Willow, and Emz
-
Angelic skins for Max, Lily, and Gene
-
Light Angel Colt
-
Impie Colette

December brought a cartoon-inspired collection: Bizarre Maisie as the Brawl Pass skin with Requiem Maisie and Platinum Maisie Chromas, Rude Lou (a nod to South Park), Paper Cordelius, BeLess Ash (reminiscent of Adventure Time’s BMO), and Sugarplum Rosa.

Halloween and the 2024 World Championship
The season overlapped with Halloween. Hoot Hoot Shelly appeared in the shop, and the spooky Brawl Pass ran until Nov. 7, giving players time to unlock tiers and claim Skeletal Surge. A community event asked all players to contribute takedowns; at 20 billion kills, everyone earned 10 Dead Boxes. Other rewards, including a Hypercharge for a random character, had already been distributed.

Competitive attention also turned to the Brawl Stars World Championship 2024, held Nov. 1–3, 2024. It gave the Angels vs Demons period an extra layer of stakes.

Why It Still Matters in 2026
By 2026, Brawl Stars has continued to evolve, but the Angels vs Demons season remains a blueprint. It showed how a mobile game could blend faction identity, limited-time modes, collectible skins, and esports momentum into one coherent arc. The season arrived like a coin spinning on its edge, refusing to land purely on light or dark. That tension — angelic versus demonic, order versus chaos — gave players a reason to pick a side and fight for it. For Supercell, the lesson was clear: in Brawl Stars, even a simple season can become a small mythology.
